Margaret Roper School retirement gift

We were commissioned by the governors of Margaret Roper School to produce a very special retirement gift for Mr Tanner, who was due to retire as Headmaster.

The portraits of Margaret Roper and Sir Thomas More and family found in the National Gallery (shown to the right) were invaluable as inspiration and reference material for this piece.

This panel was made to hang over an existing window, but could equally have been installed as a window in its own right.

Production details:

• Irridised glass forms the background for this panel
• Gold/yellow water glass was used to give a jewel-like glow to the cross behind the image of Margaret Roper
• Five varieties of baroque glass add to the shape and flow of her robes
• Rose-coloured water glass was used for her skin
